Sara McCarroll
Sara McCarroll is a visual artist living in Dublin. She works primarily through the mediums of photography and video. She graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design + Technology with a first-class honours degree in photography in 2020. Her graduate work is concerned with issues of gender and the ongoing treatment received by the victims and survivors of The Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home located in Tuam County Galway. One of Ireland's many mother and baby homes which are at the centre of an internationally recognised scandal involving the catholic church and Irish state bodies. Her interest in this subject is currently ongoing and will inform future works.
